SRI-3 is the first concrete milestone of CACE — a lightweight, academic-led alliance of the four centers above, introduced at Space Resources Week 2026 in Luxembourg. As such, SRI-3 is jointly coordinated by all four centers and is open to participation from the full international community, including all SRW attendees.
Tentative themes:
– International instrument collaboration
– Early-career session (a CACE flagship activity)
– Policy & regulatory dialogue.
Background
SRI I (1 July 2025, Jimbocho, Tokyo) was an invitation-only pre-event held prior to the official establishment of CSRI. SRI II (23–24 November 2025, University of Tokyo) marked the official launch of CSRI and was the first SRI open to the broader community. It drew over 150 participants on-site and online and brought together the directors of the partnering centers — A. Abbud-Madrid (CSR), K. Hadler (ESRIC), J. Culton (ATCSR), and H. Miyamoto (CSRI). The panel discussion at SRI-2 led directly to the proposal of CACE, which will be formally introduced to the community at SRW 2026 (5 May 2026, Luxembourg).
